I'm not one to post about food and diet or anything like that. I usually stray away from these types of posts because I think women already have enough bullshit to deal with just being mother's, partners, and friends that we don't need added pressure from the exercise/diet industry.
But,...this recipe was just too good not to share. As I'm quickly approaching 50 I noticed my body is definitely changing and my daily cravings have substantially increase. I don't just attribute this to my hormones, I'm sure stress plays a big part as well. I came across a few tips and came up with this recipe. I decided to keep the smoothie as basic as possible.
I am now on day 5 of making this drink and I am truly amazed that I am not craving salty snacks or any junk food. Really! No bullshit. I am feeling full and my cravings have disappeared. I mainly attribute the decreased cravings to increased fiber with the flax and chia.
Here's the recipe in case anyone wants to try. Throw it all in a Nutri Bullet or blender in any order.
Coconut Milk
Chocolate flavored vegan protein - I scoop
Chia Seeds - 1 tbsp
'Flax Seeds - 1 tbsp
Walnuts - handful
Peanut Butter - 1 tbsp
Ice
I am really digging this smoothie and am now trying different variations. I did a strawberry/blueberry mix today and it was ok. Not as good as this one, but it's good to have variety.
